Chapter 13
“Knock knock—”
“Qing Xian. Are you there?” Su Rong knocked on the door and asked.
After waiting for a moment without any response from inside, Su Rong hesitated briefly, then reached out and pushed the door open.
The rooms on the ship were all very small, and she could see the person lying on the bed at a glance.
Su Rong walked to the side of the bed and found that Qing Xian’s complexion was very pale, even more so than last night.
Su Rong reached out to touch Qing Xian’s smooth forehead, feeling it was very hot.
The sleeping person, perhaps feeling the cool temperature, comfortably nuzzled against her hand.
Su Rong’s hand, which was about to withdraw, paused and rested on top of his head.
“Su Rong…” Qing Xian murmured.
“Hm?” Su Rong responded.
But she found it was just Qing Xian mumbling in his sleep. A strange feeling arose in her heart, and she moved her hand away from Qing Xian’s head.
Then her palm turned over, and a small pill appeared out of thin air.
Su Rong put the pill into Qing Xian’s mouth, saying, “You’re getting quite a bargain today.”
She smiled, and after feeding him the medicine, she also pinched Qing Xian’s fair and delicate little face.
The door of the room was quietly pushed open a crack, a pair of eyes obsessively staring at the two people in the room, then silently left.
Su Rong’s smile faded as she glanced at the door.
After eating the Snow Dew Spirit Pill that Su Rong had fed him, Qing Xian soon woke up.
He felt a faint taste of ice and snow in his mouth, and the feeling of dizziness and chest tightness had largely dissipated.
Then he sat up and saw Su Rong sitting by the window, her gaze calm and tranquil as she looked outside. The sea breeze lifted the ends of her hair, swirling and falling in the bright light.
“Su Rong?” Qing Xian called softly, his voice a bit hoarse.
Su Rong didn’t look at him, just made a sound of acknowledgment in response.
“What are you looking at?” Qing Xian curiously got out of bed and walked to her side.
“The sea, I suppose.” After all, looking out, there was nothing but endless ocean as far as the eye could see.
Qing Xian asked, “How long until we reach Tong Zhou?”
“Tired?” Su Rong turned her gaze to him, her tone lazy.
“It’s fine, I was just asking. We’ve been out for quite a while,” Qing Xian said.
“After today, it’s still two or three days’ journey.” Su Rong looked at him with a bit of a mischievous smile, “Young Master Qing Xian has such good luck, choosing a place that requires crossing mountains and seas.”
Qing Xian reached out to push her, the movement very light, without using any strength.
Su Rong smiled lazily, resting her hand on the windowsill and propping up her chin to gaze silently into the distance.
Qing Xian leaned against the windowsill, imitating Su Rong’s posture to look at the sea, but the corner of his eye only saw her…
“Su Rong, what medicine did you give me?” Suddenly, Qing Xian remembered the faint fragrance in his mouth when he woke up and asked.
“Fever-reducing medicine,” Su Rong said in a flat tone.
“Is that so?” He felt the taste of this medicine was somewhat familiar, as if he had eaten it somewhere before.
“Did you think I’d feed you an elixir?” Su Rong said, “Think about it, could your body handle that?”
Qing Xian thought about his body that had completely transformed into that of a human man, and sighed inwardly that this body was truly fragile, falling ill at the slightest provocation.
As she spoke, Su Rong stood up, putting back the chair she had casually moved, and said to Qing Xian, “Come down for lunch later.”
“Alright.”
Thanks to Su Rong’s Snow Dew Spirit Pill, Qing Xian spent the whole day very comfortably and didn’t get seasick again.
…
On the third night of Su Rong and the others’ voyage, the sea became rough again.
This time was somewhat different from the last. As soon as Su Rong sensed something amiss, she immediately left her room.
On the other side, Qing Xian also opened his door at the same time.
“What are you coming out for? Go back and rest,” Su Rong said to Qing Xian.
But Qing Xian clearly saw that today’s rough seas were unusual, and his eyes showed some worry.
“I feel something strange,” Qing Xian said. After all, all his immortal techniques and cultivation had been sealed, so it was already good that he could feel something was off; he couldn’t know anything more.
“Don’t cause trouble,” Su Rong said seriously, dropping her casual attitude.
It was the first time Qing Xian had heard someone say such words to him. So… had he become someone who causes trouble for others?
He looked up, wanting to argue a bit, but found that Su Rong had already disappeared.
His foot stepped forward, but then retreated.
Never mind, she was right, if he went, he would just be causing trouble…
He turned around, went back into the room and closed the door. His usually bright pupils were full of dimness.
…
Su Rong arrived on the deck and could clearly see a whirlpool appearing on the distant sea surface, as if a figure was spiraling up from within.
Her eyes deepened; this was probably a sea demon.
If she remembered correctly, sea demons were a type of monster, most skilled at bewitching people’s hearts.
There were both male and female sea demons, but she didn’t know whether the one ahead was male or female.
She flew into the center of the whirlpool, sending a straight beam of demonic energy towards the sea demon.
The sea demon saw the demonic energy flying towards itself but found its body completely unable to move. It tried to see clearly who on the sea was attacking it, but couldn’t see anything.
Using all its strength, it managed to move an inch, avoiding a critical hit, and quickly dove into the sea bottom.
Seeing the sea demon flee so quickly, Su Rong frowned.
Something wasn’t quite right.
This sea demon had chosen to attack from such a far distance from the ship, obviously causing very little harm to the people on board. So why did it come out?
Could it just be coming out for a breath of fresh air?
Su Rong looked at the sea surface that had returned to calm for a long time, but in the end, didn’t pursue to kill.
She turned and flew back to the sailboat.
She was about to open the door when she noticed something amiss. Her hand paused, and then she opened the door.
The person inside heard the movement and turned around. Seeing it was her, he walked over.
“Su Rong!”
How come it’s Qing Xian?
“Why are you here?” Su Rong asked.
Qing Xian didn’t answer her question, but walked to her side, looked at her, and reached out to hug her.
Su Rong instinctively pushed him away. Qing Xian stepped back, looking at her with a puzzled expression.
“Su Rong, I won’t cause trouble, I’m very capable,” Qing Xian said, seemingly serious.
After saying this, he insistently tried to cling to Su Rong again.
Seeing the situation wasn’t right, Su Rong stepped into the room and closed the door.
At the same time, she grabbed Qing Xian, who was trying to pounce on her, and pulled him to sit down at the table.
“Are you still clear-headed?” Su Rong asked.
The person opposite didn’t answer, just stared at her intently, his body leaning towards her.
Su Rong felt that the hand holding him was noticeably hot, unlike his usual temperature.
In a moment of carelessness, Qing Xian hugged her again, even wrapping his entire body around Su Rong.
“What are you doing?!” Su Rong felt the scorching temperature of the face pressed against hers and quickly understood what had happened.
Her eyes turned cold as she thought, she had really underestimated Qu Yi, to think he would even do such a thing!
While Su Rong was still thinking, she felt a warm softness press against her lips, followed by a soft tongue reaching out.
“!”
After the shock, she pulled Qing Xian away.
“Listen to me,” Su Rong said, but the other person just clung to her, nuzzling her affectionately.
“Qing Xian!” Su Rong steadied him and said, “Calm down first.”
For the first time, there was nervousness in Su Rong’s tone.
She didn’t use her demonic power; she couldn’t guarantee that she wouldn’t accidentally send out a blast of demonic energy and instantly end his life.
So she could only forcefully hold him still, not letting him move or touch around.
“Su Rong…” Qing Xian smacked his lips, “You’re so sweet.”
He smiled with a flushed face. Su Rong looked away, unable to bear the sight, wanting to curse inwardly.
She, a cold-hearted demoness, how did she end up with such a troublesome person?
Thinking of this, she paused again.
Had she been pretending to be human for so long that she had learned this “Liu Xiahui” behavior of humans?
She turned her head back to look at Qing Xian, her gaze profound.
Qing Xian tilted his head in confusion: “Su Rong?”
Su Rong curved her lips, and in this position, picked him up. He immediately started kissing and nuzzling her face in this posture.
“Su Rong, you feel so nice…”
“Mm.” Su Rong responded calmly.
She placed Qing Xian on the bed, and he immediately tried to climb up again. Su Rong propped her hands on either side of the pillow, allowing Qing Xian to kiss her on the lips.
Then she took control, holding the back of Qing Xian’s neck, deepening the kiss.
A moment later, she irritatedly clicked her tongue, got up and stared at Qing Xian for a while, but ultimately turned and got off the bed.
Su Rong, as a thorough demon, perhaps the only good point was that she had a loving pair of parents.
Although they were always up to no good, at least they ensured that Su Rong wasn’t someone who took relationships lightly.
So much so that Su Rong had lived for thirty thousand years, yet had never even tasted a man.
No feelings, no thoughts.
Besides, how could romance and love be as fun as fighting?
She immobilized the restless Qing Xian, her palm moved slightly, easily extracting the demonic energy that Qu Yi had planted in Qing Xian’s body.
Su Rong looked at the ball of demonic energy in her hand, feeling somewhat strange.
This amount would have been enough to make Qing Xian die from his body bursting within a short time, yet he was only somewhat confused and amorous?
She reached out to touch Qing Xian’s wrist, confirming again that he was just an ordinary person.
Then she thought about how he had also noticed the disturbance caused by the sea demon…
Su Rong thought, could this be a mortal with innate talent for immortal cultivation? Or perhaps, he wasn’t a mortal at all?
It’s just a pity that she didn’t know those immortal cultivators, otherwise she could have introduced him.
She kneaded Qu Yi’s ball of demonic energy, watching it vanish in her hand.
Qu Yi was an incubus, as the name suggests, he was most skilled at some seductive techniques.
He had used these methods on Su Rong before, but Su Rong would feel sick just seeing Qu Yi’s lewd face, and would always throw him away directly.
Moreover, Qu Yi’s minor cultivation was really nothing in her eyes, completely ineffective against her.
Su Rong pinched Qing Xian’s little face, then tugged at it.
But Qing Xian still hadn’t woken up, sleeping soundly with a red face, his lips slightly pouted, still glistening from the kiss.
The cold moonlight from outside shot in, falling just on his sleeping face, making his skin appear even more translucent.
Su Rong was silent for a moment, then picked up the sleeping Qing Xian horizontally and walked out of the room.
She hooked open the door with her foot, and as she went out, she bumped into Long Ling who had come out to find water to drink.
Long Ling looked at Su Rong and Qing Xian in her arms with shock, his eyes wide open.
“What’s this?” Long Ling pointed at Qing Xian in Su Rong’s arms, asking dazedly.
Su Rong gave him a glance without answering. She only left him with an emotionless back view.
Long Ling was so shocked he almost couldn’t stand steady. No way? How was he going to explain this to the Empress when he returned to the celestial realm?
Moreover, why was His Highness Qing Xian sleeping in Su Rong’s arms? Why did they come out of Su Rong’s room?
Could it be that His Highness went to find Su Rong himself?
Oh, his foolish Highness!
In the end, Long Ling didn’t find water and returned to his room with an extremely unstable state of mind, unable to sleep all night.
While in another room, Qing Xian was sleeping soundly.
Completely unaware that someone had been in a panic for him all night.
Su Rong looked at his carefree sleeping appearance, smiled helplessly, turned around and left the room, closing the door.
It was also time for her to settle accounts with Qu Yi.
