Chapter 10: A Day of Various Educations – Need to Call a Doctor, Better Prescribe…
She liked to act like an inexperienced young girl, not caring about any technique, only demanding greedily.
“Wen Zhaoyin, Wen… Zhao-mm…” Meng Huan’s tone changed as he moaned incoherently, his speech becoming disjointed.
Actually, the discomfort was only slight, completely negligible, and he didn’t have to do any physical work, just lie flat like a salted fish.
But he couldn’t get over that mental hurdle. He was a real man, how could he lie there mewling like a cat? No, he had to counterattack!
“Are you tired? Hmm… why don’t I take over?”
Wen Zhaoyin said nothing, lifting him up and sitting him on a chair, taking the opportunity to untie his hair ribbon and using it to bind his hands.
“Did you hear what I said?! Men and women should be equal in this too, you know!” Although he was scum, he had never forced anyone, right?
Wen Zhaoyin raised her hand and pinched Meng Huan’s cheek, her palm sliding down his face, thumb pressing on the corner of his mouth. “Be good, don’t make a sound.”
She liked him, found him an interesting man. Usually he could say some shocking things, chattering away, and she didn’t find it annoying.
But when doing this, she preferred things a bit quieter, someone who would blush, maintain their dignity and hold back their voice.
Just like that… clearly a pitiful unloved concubine’s son, yet still pretending to be strong, clearly feeling good but afraid to make a sound for fear of losing composure.
She could see through that person’s fragility at a glance, and she was willing to raise her hand to shield him from all storms.
Unfortunately, before that day came, he passed away.
“Meng Huan, men should be more reserved to be lovable. If you keep chattering, you won’t get dinner tonight,” she warned.
Without a thought, Meng Huan made his choice between food and dignity. He could skip a meal, but he had to be the one in control of the rhythm!
“What lovable? What reserved? No way! If you keep forcing me, I’ll, I’ll stop cooperating!”
He felt he could still control himself. Then she’d be like a skilled housewife with no rice to cook! Let’s see what she could do then.
Wen Zhaoyin looked at him with amusement. “You’re welcome to try. See if you can really control it?”
She didn’t want to hear him talk too much, because that would make this face separate from the person in her memory, becoming unlike that person.
So she simply gagged him with a silk scarf and focused on doing her own thing.
Meng Huan closed his eyes in anger, trying hard to ignore that feeling and control himself to finish early, but he found he couldn’t, lasting ridiculously long.
He stared at Wen Zhaoyin, hoping to read something from her face. Then, as she picked him up to move locations again, he caught a fleeting glimpse of the incense burner on the table, its curling smoke seeming to carry a hint of alluring pink.
He never burned incense in his room. When did she set up that thing!
—
Although Meng Huan was talkative, he still got to eat dinner.
However, it wasn’t at the usual mealtime, but late at night, around nine or ten o’clock, half-leaning in bed.
Wen Xi, who was serving the dishes beside him, didn’t dare raise his eyes. As soon as he entered the room, he saw the young man’s eyes were red, his lips unusually rosy, with obvious signs of being loved.
Though he had thoughts of attaching himself to the family head, he was still pure and had never witnessed such a scene.
Fortunately, the family head had left, otherwise he might have felt even more uncomfortable.
Meng Huan gnawed on a steamed bun as if venting his anger. Seeing Wen Xi’s hands were empty, he raised his hand to point at the low table. “Throw away that incense burner on it! Throw it outside the courtyard gate! Then search the room, anything that smells of incense, throw it all out!”
It had been about two hours on and off, he was truly devastated, at one point feeling he would break from being used like this.
This woman Wen Zhaoyin was toxic. He resisted, she suppressed him. Later he even gave in, but she was still like that! Even more obsessed! She wasn’t human!
Who knows if that incense had any side effects, if it would drain the body. Tomorrow he must call a doctor to check, better prescribe some ginseng and deer antler to replenish his strength.
The next day.
Before Meng Huan woke up, there was a commotion outside, saying a male madam had come to see him and was now waiting in the west wing.
Wen Xi walked in carrying a basin. After these few days of interaction, he had figured out Meng Huan’s temperament.
Knowing that although he usually spoke without restraint, he wasn’t one to put on airs, and not afraid of him getting angry, after putting down the basin, he directly pulled him up from the bed.
Wen Xi took a warm towel to dab on his face, gently wiping, “Young master, please wake up. The male madam has been waiting for some time. It would be improper if you don’t see him soon.”
To think the family head valued the young master so much, specially inviting a male madam from outside to teach male virtues. He heard that madam was very prestigious, having taught the eldest sons of many high officials, and now was invited by the family head to teach the young master.
“Pei Lan said you can call that madam Teacher Liu…”
“What male madam Teacher Liu? What nonsense is this early in the morning?” Meng Huan had become somewhat awake listening to his chatter and asked with furrowed brows.
Wen Xi blinked, bending to pick up the water basin, saying, “It’s the teacher arranged by the family head to teach you male virtues.”
“Male what?”
“Male virtues.”
“Male virtues?! What the hell is that?!”
Meng Huan stood up abruptly. He had heard of male virtues in modern times too, said to be some rubbish made up by unruly women. Now he had to learn that? What a joke!
He didn’t even change his clothes, just walked out to the west wing wearing only his undergarments, saying to the seated Mr. Liu, “I’m not learning. Go wherever you want, don’t stay in my courtyard!”
Wen Xi ran over carrying clothes, only to see the two staring at each other in the room. Before he could understand the situation, Meng Huan ordered, “Wen Xi, drive this Liu person out for me!”
Wen Zhaoyin was really pushing his limits. Using drugs yesterday, sending someone to teach male virtues today? A woman like her could only exist in a female-dominated society. If she were born in modern times, huh.
Liu Shu stood up calmly, adjusting his clothes, looking Meng Huan up and down, saying, “Crude.”
Ignoring Wen Xi who was hesitating on the side, he circled around Meng Huan, talking to himself, “As a man, to see guests without being properly dressed is considered wanton behavior. And you with your hair disheveled…”
Meng Huan listened with veins popping on his forehead. Since Wen Xi wouldn’t move, he took matters into his own hands, picking up a round stool nearby and about to smash it at the person. Seeing how crazy he was, Liu Shu didn’t dare confront him directly. Without finishing his words, he grabbed his book box and fled Blue Bamboo Courtyard in disarray, with no further developments after that.
He thought the matter was over, but after another day, that Liu Shu stepped into Blue Bamboo Courtyard again, followed by four men who looked quite fierce.
Without saying a word, they grabbed Meng Huan, forcing him to learn various rules and etiquettes, pressing him to listen to Liu Shu recite “Male Virtues” and “Male Teachings”, and finally requiring him to recite them. If he didn’t cooperate in reciting, there were several punishments to help him remember.
