Chapter 2: Kiss
Su Heng’s words did not receive a response. When others saw her, they had already become greatly confused. Basically, whatever she asked them to do, they would do it. This was true for men, women, old, and young alike. But the youth in front of her did not buy it at all. His eyes remained cold and clear, as if the person standing in front of him was not an enchantingly beautiful woman, but merely a piece of wood.
It seemed he was truly upright, a genuinely upright person, not one of those pretenders.
“It seems he really is an upright person,” Su Heng said, seeing that he ignored her beauty, which made her even more eager. If this young man was the same as other men, she would have to suspect whether she had found the wrong person.
She observed him with great interest and without concealment, making the youth quite uncomfortable.
His eyes remained indifferent as before, and the wrist holding the sword moved slightly. The long sword reflected a cold light under the sunlight.
Su Heng sensed the killing intent in the sword energy and looked at the youth with a hint of playfulness in her eyes. The youth in front of her was as sharp as the long sword in his hand, with an imposing aura all over.
She had been watching the excitement from the tree branch for a while, and now the protagonist of the excitement had become herself. She was not flustered at all.
The young man’s swordsmanship was so domineering and skilled that even she had to exclaim in amazement. If it weren’t for those evil sect members using underhanded methods, they might not have been able to injure him like they did before.
Now that the person he was fighting had become her, Su Heng was not only unafraid but even a little eager to try. She flicked her fingers in the air a few times, and several red threads suddenly appeared out of thin air, emitting a faint red glow.
The red threads quickly enveloped his body, but unlike how they dealt with those evil sect members, they crisscrossed around his body. Tan Ye glanced around, and even at this moment, he still showed no signs of panic, just as Su Heng had seen before.
She waited with her hands in her sleeves, but in the next moment, the beautiful youth who was full of killing intent leaned his body back and fell directly backward.
Su Heng raised her eyebrows and appeared behind him in the next instant, reaching out to catch him.
The poison he had suppressed earlier broke through the restriction he had set under his continuous release of internal spiritual power and ran wild in his meridians.
Su Heng held him and glanced around. The situation here did not calm down because of her appearance but instead became even more chaotic. The righteous sect disciples who were isolated outside thought that the evil sects had come to help, while the evil sects thought that the righteous sects had come to reinforce them. The two sides were entangled in a mess, a chaotic scene.
She took the opportunity to simply take the person and run away.
Su Heng tried to call out in her mind, but the voice might have been teased too much by her before. She called out several times in a row but did not hear any response.
Su Heng looked down at the person leaning on her shoulder. She had brought him on a whim, and she felt that his whole body was burning hot.
She took him and flew straight into the distance.
Su Heng found a place to settle him down and began to treat his injuries. Those evil sect members had been ruthless in their attack on him. Now his whole body was burning hot, as if he were on fire. Even through his clothes, she could feel his fiery body temperature, transmitted through the fabric. It was so hot that even she felt a little restless.
Demons were spirits transformed from the vegetation of deep mountains and forests, preferring moderate temperatures. Whether too cold or too hot, it made her very uncomfortable.
She was made uncomfortable by his body heat. She was not someone who would sacrifice herself for others but would only sacrifice others for herself. She directly pressed her palm on his head, wanting to push him away, when she heard a muffled groan from his throat.
The poison was very fierce. After being poisoned, he had suppressed it with all his might. The more fiercely he had suppressed it before, the more violent the backlash was now.
His brows were tightly knitted, his lips and teeth slightly parted. He seemed to retain a hint of clarity, but that clarity was also maintained with great difficulty, obviously on the verge of collapse and unable to last long. The clarity and indifference she had seen before melted away completely under the pain.
That face, which was completely unfeeling, beautiful yet as sharp as a sword, was now full of fragility.
In his hazy consciousness, he vaguely sensed a cool presence beside him and instinctively leaned toward it. The herbal scent emanating from Su Heng’s body, with a hint of coolness, just happened to soothe his current agitation.
The herbal spiritual energy dispersed from her body and was captured by him. The herbal scent, filled with heavy moisture, alleviated some of the burning pain surging in his meridians. This little bit of comfort made his mind a little clearer.
In his arms was a soft, cloud-like sensation, soft as a cloud, with a hint of coolness. The coolness penetrated through the contact between them and entered his skin, alleviating some of the burning pain that felt like fire. His mind was also pulled back a little. Realizing something, he used all his strength to push the softness in his hands away. He heard a few faint laughs.
The laughter was pure, without any hint of schadenfreude.
Not long after releasing her, the burning sensation climbed up again. He tried to regulate his own qi, but unfortunately, this demonic poison was very evil. The more he used spiritual power to guide and force it out, the more intense it became, impacting his spiritual meridians, wanting to break all the spiritual meridians in his body. It would not stop until this body was also broken.
Su Heng did not go to save him. In fact, she could save this injury, but she just did not want to lend a hand so easily.
If she lent a hand too easily, at the wrong time, even if the other party was an upright person, this favor would seem a little cheap.
He was in great pain, while she watched with great interest.
After a while, she keenly sensed a hint of sweetness in the air. The sweet smell was very faint, and when she smelled it, an inexplicable evil fire rose in her heart.
The faint sweet smell floated in the air, becoming more and more pungent.
Su Heng immediately suppressed the bloodthirsty thought that welled up in her heart, and she lowered her head to observe him curiously.
Could this be a god?
She had been here for so many years, so long that she herself could not remember how long she had been here. She had seen many mortals, cultivators, as well as demons and monsters, but she had never seen gods or immortals. These seemed to belong entirely to legends.
She sat there and looked around. No matter how she looked at it, she still felt that the person in front of her, except for his appearance and that outstanding bearing, seemed to be no different from others.
Su Heng looked at him with great curiosity. She lowered her head to get closer to him, so that she could see more clearly.
The person lying there had now curled up into a ball. He was painfully holding himself. His palms tightly grasped his lapels. The pain of being burned by raging flames was not easy to endure, especially the kind that made one feel flames rising from within, slowly burning one from the inside out until the whole person was consumed.
When she approached, the innate herbal spirit energy from her body also swept over.
The herbal spirit energy was cool and soothing, alleviating some of his fever and poison.
He looked back at her with all his strength.
The cold and aloof eyes were now full of fragility, and the porcelain-white skin was flushed red due to the high body heat.
The loose strands of hair at his temples were stuck to his skin by sweat.
A layer of hazy light appeared in his eyes due to the heavy torment he had suffered.
His lips and teeth parted as he panted heavily. A flash of amazement passed through Su Heng’s eyes. She had no intention of saving him, but she gave him a thorough once-over from top to bottom.
After a while, she reached out her hand, and the herbal scent laden with heavy moisture was also brought to his presence.
But the youth looked at her weakly and then closed his eyes.
She was willing to take the initiative to save him, seeing that he was in a state she liked at the moment, but he did not appreciate it.
Su Heng was not angry on the surface. If he had really come over so simply, she would have had to suspect whether that thing was fooling her.
She simply moved away from him. Since he had such strong will and backbone, she would let him be.
She watched as the youth curled up into a tight ball, solidly protecting himself. He was very alert, but helpless at the moment.
Su Heng watched from the side and casually picked a green leaf from nearby, putting the dew on the leaf surface into her mouth.
She had just drunk the dew when she noticed something wrong with the person over there. After spitting out a mouthful of blood, the youth raised his hand and aimed it directly at himself.
Su Heng grabbed his wrist, not bothering to care that he seemed to dislike being touched by others, and directly pressed his hand behind his back.
“You…” The youth had just raised his sweaty face and uttered a word when Su Heng impatiently lowered her head and sealed his lips.
She directly kissed his lips. The youth was suddenly kissed by her and was stunned for a moment, then he began to struggle, but she had already parted his lips and teeth.
He had been cultivating purely since childhood and knew about intimate acts between men and women, but only in a vague sense, learned from some fellow disciples whose mortal hearts were not yet clear. But knowing these things, he had not the slightest curiosity; on the contrary, he despised such matters. Other than that, he had no other experience or knowledge.
Before he could react, his lips and teeth were parted by her. What followed was an abundance of herbal qi. The herbal qi was transmitted from her lips and teeth to him, carrying an overwhelming momentum, directly leading into his body. The burning pain and the transmitted herbal qi collided and impacted each other, enveloping all the demonic poison that was running wild in his meridians.
After his pain reached its peak, it was strangely calmed down. He could feel the cool spiritual power flowing in the meridians throughout his body. He had already expended too much physical strength before. Amidst the coolness all over his body, he finally could not resist the fatigue and fell asleep.
Su Heng felt a weight on her shoulder. She lowered her head and saw that he had fallen asleep on her shoulder.
She had originally wanted to watch from the side, to see how long he could endure, and when he could not bear it anymore and begged her for help, that would be when she would take action. She had not expected that his temperament was much more proud than she had thought. Even when he could not bear it, even if he thought of ending his own life, he would not beg her for help.
“Why didn’t you say he was so difficult to deal with?” she asked in her mind.
Again, there was no response.
She thought for a moment, glanced at the unconscious person leaning on her shoulder, and recalled what that voice had warned before. She chuckled, “Perhaps a tough nut is more interesting?”
When Tan Ye opened his eyes again, he did not know how long had passed. When he sat up, his body still felt weak and powerless.
He struggled to sit up and looked up, seeing the demon sitting not far away.
She was just sitting not far away, her fiery red skirt casually spread out. She was not wearing shoes, her slender, snow-white feet directly extending out from the skirt. Her heels were standing on the ground. She was humming some strange tune, and her feet also moved with that extremely strange tune, as if beating a rhythm.
On her ankle was a thin silver chain. The tendons on the back of her foot protruded with her movements, making her ankles look even more slender and pitifully graceful. Especially the snow-white skin and the fiery red skirt complemented each other, like raging fire and white snow, incompatible yet stunningly beautiful.
In her hand, she was tugging a ball of red thread. The threads were twined around her hand. Hearing the movement on this side, she turned her head, “Awake?”
